The program for this project was to update the interior of the 1970s branch campus library and integrate new computer labs, circulation desk, internet cafe, and reorientation of the functions of the library. Maintaining an open feeling was crucial for the project. The campus desired to create a library that was appealing and attractive for students to use not only for library functions but also other functions. This renovation will maintain the current size of the collection but create an more organized, attractive layout. Library and staff service personel are placed in a more visible location to encourage interaction with students. Computer lab and internet café services are greatly expanded and placed in visible, accessible locations. Access to the student skill center is also improved. The entry to the library from the main corridor will also be made more prominent and welcoming. |
