The intent of the project is to convert a portion the existing FIALA building (former bus garage) into the new Centennial Research park. The completed project would serve as an accelerator for businesses to form collaborations with KSU's Liquid Crystal Institute.
Functional layout of the building would be based around the idea of shared common lab space with flexible, tenant leasing spaces that would be demised and built-out at a later date, as tenants are secured. The concept of the building would be similar to that of a speculative office building but would serve varies small businesses developing liquid crystal technologies in conjunction with Kent
State.
