The scope of this project is to renovate an existing, 1926 laboratory building into a speculative lab building for agricultural research tenants. The project is associated with the OARDC's BIO-HIO program, which is a public private partnership to foster the relationship between the research that occurs on the campus and private industry. It is phase I of a multi-phase development in the planning stages. Work for the project includes extensive asbestos abatement, major interior demolition, new MEPT infrastructure and services, a full sprinkler system, new elevator, stair and entry, as well as preparation of core and shell elements for perspective tenants. Being partially funded by EDA grants, the project team bid an early abatement and demolition package to allow the university to meet specific schedule requirements. Due to the historic nature of the building, approval was also obtained from the State of Ohio Historic Preservation Office. |
