kent state univeristy REGIONAL ACADEMIC CENTER

Payto Architects was commissioned to design this 45,000sf new academic facility as a new home for the ever-growing Twinsburg Academic Center. The project was developed in a unique public-private partnership between Premier Development Partners and the University. Being the first of its kind for Kent State, the Payto team was instrumental in bridging the protocols and practices of the public sector with the demands of a private sector development. 
Program for the facility includes: faculty and administrative office space, fully functional nursing skills lab, science labs, and computer labs, flexible multi-purpose instractional spaces, executive education suite housing the University's Executive MBA program, and 11 acre site development including on-site water retention and over 300 parking spaces. 
This project was designed using a variety of sustainable building practices such as energy and water efficient fixtures and building systems, high performance envelope materials and natural daylighting strategies. The project is currently being submitted for LEED Silver certification.
