kent state univeristy RENOVATIONS FOR THE SCHOOL OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE

Payto Architects recently completed this renovation on the Third Floor of Kent State's Main Campus Library. The goal of this project was to create an updated and cohesive space for the School of Library and Information Sciences within the Third Floor of the Main Campus Library. The School of Library and Information Science is a prestgious program at Kent State, and has long deserved a space which supports and highlights the outstanding work they do. Throughout the public spaces of the floor, the design team used cohesive finishes, accented by welcoming wood panels on the walls and ceilings, to tie the spaces together. We included glass display cases which are filled by students of the program. The programs in the 19,200sf renovation include: elevator lobby enhancements, faculty and administratice offices for the school, computer lab and student lounge, gallery spaces, instructional spaces, research labs and conference rooms. The scope of the project also included expansion of the Reinberger Children's Library, for more information on this project click here
