​Shared use kitchen’s are always intended to be social and economic incubators.  They create a commercial grade kitchen environment where small scale makers and producers can gain access to the tools and environment that they need to take their food products to the next level.  Seeing this need in the Sandusky area, the H2 Properties team approached Payto Architects with the idea of turning a long vacant retail space on the ground level of a mixed use historic property into just this type of operation.  Have completed 2 previous shared use kitchens, the Payto team had the experience to understand the building type and also having seen first hand what is needed for these types of operations to run smoothly, our team was able to create an environment that was flexible and that could provide for many different types of users.  Adequate storage and delivery access was provided along with visual access to gain notoriety and visibility for the space.
