Case Western Reserve University retained Payto Architects to design a re-facing of the existing parking structure to aesthetically match the adjacent Veale Convocation Center. The project entailed designing and detailing a brick and stone cladding system for the outside face as well as aluminum grille work for the openings in the garage. Delicate care was taken in the design process so that the façade of the structure would harmoniously fit into the context of the campus where it is located. In addition to cosmetic additions to the structure, a hydraulic elevator and machine room were added to the existing stair tower as well as some revisions to the stair itself.
