As part of their vocation program, Hattie has begun to provide safe work environments for persons with disabilities where they can learn valuable and rewarding career skills, all while providing a service to their communities. Payto Architects has worked with Hattie to create multiple design solutions for their recent acquisitions in the Akron area, ranging from cohesively themed dining experiences to one-stop service counters to animal care and grooming facilities. Payto Architects has also worked on the Hattie Larlham Constant Companion care facilities and group home residences.

The City of Cleveland Heights, an inner ring suburb of Cleveland, offers a storefront renovation program to local business owners to encourage the beautification and upkeep of the commercial properties within the City.
